Visual Stories: Our Library in Pictures!
Every student from Class VI onwards can borrow books from the main library. In the beginning of the academic session students issued with their student ID Cards and library cards. The library follows a self circulation system using barcode technology develoepd in-house. The students can use their ID card, library card or their library notebooks to issue books from the library
To streamline the book circulation process and enhance the user experience, a Self-Circulation System has been developed for the library. The system was designed and developed by the librarian in-house. This innovative system leverages barcode technology to enable seamless, efficient book checkouts for library members, fostering independence in borrowing books and reducing the dependency on librarian assistance for routine transactions..
Easy Book Issuance
Members can now check out books by simply scanning their student ID card, library ID card, or a designated library notebook. After scanning their identification, members only need to scan the barcode of the book they wish to borrow. This quick and straightforward process eliminates the need for manual recording, allowing members to complete the borrowing process independently.
Audio Alert Facility
The system is equipped with an audio alert feature that provides verbal guidance throughout the circulation process. This facility plays prompts and instructions, ensuring that members are informed about each step and making it especially user-friendly for young students or first-time users. The audio alerts act as a guide, enabling smooth and self-assured book checkouts.Enhanced Librarian-Student Interaction
By automating the circulation process, the system frees up the librarian’s time, allowing them to focus on more meaningful interactions with students. Librarians are now able to engage with students more actively, answering questions, assisting with book selection, and supporting them in finding resources aligned with their interests and reading levels.
Efficiency and Time Savings: Members can check out books quickly, reducing waiting times and queues, especially during peak library hours.
User Empowerment: The system encourages members to handle circulation tasks independently, fostering responsibility and enhancing their confidence in using library resources. Improved Library Service: Librarians are able to dedicate more time to advising students, organizing activities, and managing other critical library functions. Reduced Errors: Barcode technology minimizes human error in book checkouts and returns, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
